Story summary

On October 23, Pemberton Township mayor Matthew Bianchini, a Republican, charged at resident Michael Sawka during a town hall meeting. The incident occurred after Sawka criticized the mayor's administration and was filmed by local media. A former police chief intervened to restrain Bianchini as he shouted threats at Sawka, including profanity. Bianchini later admitted that his behavior was inappropriate but claimed it was a result of months of verbal harassment from Sawka and others. The event has drawn criticism from the Pemberton Township Democratic Club, which urged residents to participate in the upcoming election where Bianchini is seeking re-election.
