As of November 4, 2026, Thomas Markle Sr., the estranged father of Duchess Meghan (née Markle), is under investigation by Philippine authorities and the FBI for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material. On October 23, The Sun reported that Markle’s son discovered disturbing images at his father's home in the Philippines and subsequently informed police. The same day, Meghan, through her spokesperson, expressed deep distress over these allegations and confirmed she was previously aware of troubling claims against her father from a 2018 letter sent to Scotland Yard by him.
Filipino police found explicit content, including footage involving minors, on digital devices linked to Markle at his apartment in the Philippines. According to Major General Wilson Asueta of the Philippine National Police, they are “very close” to filing formal charges against Markle. Additionally, Filipino authorities confirmed that three memory cards and a mobile phone containing child sexual abuse images were turned over by Markle’s son. The investigation is ongoing, with both local police and the FBI involved in the case.
