A 36-year-old British woman named Leanne Gregory from Nottinghamshire died while trying to rescue her two sons after they were swept away by a strong current during a snorkeling trip off Bimini, an island in the Bahamas. The incident occurred on Tuesday when Gregory and her family were celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. Both boys were rescued but the mother was unable to be saved despite efforts from her husband who performed CPR when she was pulled from the water. She was pronounced dead at a local clinic by doctors. This tragic event marks the fourth such fatal incident in Bimini’s waters over the past two years, with foul play not suspected and an autopsy planned to determine the exact cause of death.
