Quick Summary

Nicki Minaj shared a video from Air Force One as President Trump traveled to Port Huron, Michigan for his midterm campaign trip on October 25. Earlier this year, in July 2026, Minaj had publicly supported Trump and visited the White House. The White House’s director of communications, Steven Chueng, suggested that Minaj could be appointed as the new press secretary, posting a video of her on Air Force One with the caption “I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!” This announcement follows Katie Zacharia's recent departure from the role just days after she took it up.

Story summary

President Donald Trump has been holding near-daily campaign rallies across the United States ahead of the November midterm elections to boost turnout for Republicans aiming to retain control of Congress. In October alone, Trump spent about 70 hours aboard Air Force One traveling between these events. His entourage includes not just political strategists and aides but also celebrities like boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather. During a rally in Michigan on October 25th, Trump encouraged the crowd to compliment rapper Nicki Minaj’s behind, while she had previously expressed support for him by appearing at his campaign events and discussing his business acumen. The inclusion of Minaj and other high-profile guests is part of Trump's strategy to energize conservative voters as Republicans play defense in key states like Texas and Michigan.
