On October 22, 2026, Jason Blake Saylor, a 35-year-old bull rider, died after being thrown from a bull and then stomped on the chest during a rodeo event at Fox Hollow Rodeo near Waynesville, Ohio. Despite wearing chest protection, Saylor sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead in the hospital. The Clearcreek Township Police Department classified his death as a fatal accident. In a Facebook post, the rodeo expressed their condolences, stating that words could not convey their sadness over losing "one of our bull riders and brothers in Christ." A 2011 study by the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine cited that bull riders face a risk of death about once every 25,000 rides, making it one of the most dangerous sports in the US.
