An 18th century house located on Goodwin's Court in Covent Garden, London, has recently been listed for sale at £1.6 million. The property is believed by many to have inspired J.K. Rowling’s fictional Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter series. Built after the Great Fire of London in the early 1700s, it reflects the living conditions of London's Georgian working classes and holds significant historical value. The estate agents claim that this rare survivor of its kind could have also inspired Ollivanders wand shop and Knockturn Alley from the books.
The house, listed by the Unique Property Company, is a two-bedroom property with one of the last gas lamps on the street above its black front door. Originally priced at £2 million, it was relisted for £1.595 million before finally settling at £1.6 million. The listing has attracted considerable interest from U.S. buyers. Goodwin's Court is popular among Harry Potter fans—often referred to as "Potterheads"—with themed tours passing by daily.
