As of October 28, 2026, an empty WestJet Boeing aircraft clipped a catering truck while being towed from its gate at Toronto Pearson International Airport, just before 8:15 p.m. The Transport Safety Board of Canada (TSB) confirmed that no passengers or flight crew were on board the plane and reported no injuries. Initially, one article mistakenly identified the plane as a Boeing 737; however, WestJet later clarified it was actually a Boeing 787 being repositioned for overnight parking when the incident occurred. The TSB stated they are collecting information but did not deploy investigators to the scene. Video footage showed the catering truck moving unexpectedly into the path of the winglet, causing minor damage before emergency responders arrived.
