Quick Summary

Pat Murphy, manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, criticized the New York Yankees as "horseshit" in a video where he talks to player Jake Bauers after the Brewers won the World Series. Bauers played poorly for the Yankees in 2023 but had a strong season with the Brewers, including being named NLCS MVP. The Yankees missed the playoffs that year for the first time since 2016, while Murphy and the Brewers enjoyed significant success in 2026.

Story summary

Brewers manager Pat Murphy took a shot at the New York Yankees after his team won the World Series on Wednesday. During a celebration with former Yankees player Jake Bauers, who now plays for the Brewers, Murphy said, "You’re going to be a rich f–ker, but just remember when you were on that horseshit Yankees team and you guys were all playing for yourself." This comment refers to Bauers' 2023 season with the Yankees, which was their worst since Aaron Judge became a regular player in 2017, finishing with an 82-80 record and missing the postseason. Murphy's remarks echo previous criticism from other teams, like when Los Angeles Dodgers players criticized the Yankees for poor performance during the 2024 World Series.
