Chinese researchers have achieved early promising results in reawakening a patient from a coma using non-invasive ultrasound therapy. After three months in a coma following a brain hemorrhage, the patient regained the ability to speak, eat, and walk with support. This breakthrough was part of an early clinical trial conducted by a coalition including the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology. The technology utilizes focused ultrasound waves to stimulate regions deep within the brain without requiring invasive surgery or implanted electrodes. State broadcaster CCTV reported this development, highlighting China's participation in global efforts to restore consciousness for patients with severe brain injuries.
