The Crime Control Department (CCD) in Pakistan claimed on Saturday that the prime suspect, Sarfraz, in the murder of a bride on her wedding day in Gujranwala district was killed during an alleged exchange of fire. According to CCD officials, Sarfraz had been hiding in Karachi before being arrested and was reportedly killed by gunfire from his accomplices while being transported back to Gujranwala.
The suspect allegedly opened fire on the bride after stopping her vehicle as she returned from her wedding reception, shooting her dead. The murder occurred because Sarfraz's marriage proposal to the victim had been declined by her family. Additionally, a female accomplice and another suspect were also taken into custody following their arrest the previous night in Karachi.
The case was registered at a CCD police station on the complaint of the deceased’s father, with three suspects being accused: Sarfraz, his female accomplice, and another unnamed individual.
