Karl Bushby, who began walking around the world from Punta Arenas, Chile on his 29th birthday in 1998, is now just days away from completing his 31,000-mile journey back to his hometown of Hull, England. Over 28 years, Bushby has traversed four continents, crossed deserts and jungles, battled polar bears, and survived dangerous mob attacks in Peru. He imposed strict rules for himself: no use of transportation and a commitment to return home on foot only after completing the journey. As he nears his final miles, Bushby is emotionally preparing for life beyond the adventure that has defined the last quarter-century, set to arrive at Queen Victoria Square in Hull by 11 AM on Monday, November 2.
