Tuesday's midterm elections will determine control of Congress for the next two years, but they will also unofficially kickstart the 2028 presidential campaign. According to some analysts, America faces more of an "reelection problem" than a governance issue, with elected officials spending significant portions of their terms campaigning rather than addressing critical issues like aging infrastructure and Social Security reform. For instance, House members, who serve for two years, spend much of their time fundraising and preparing for the next election cycle, leading to delays in important legislation such as immigration reforms that never see progress.
