As of November 1, 2026, the Liberal Party outpaced the Conservatives in fundraising by nearly $1 million in the third quarter, according to Elections Canada records. The Liberals raised $4.9 million, while the Conservatives raised $3.9 million. This marks a shift from the second quarter when the Conservatives had raised $5 million compared to the Liberals' $4.3 million. At a press conference, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre accused Prime Minister Mark Carney of using tax dollars to pay off corporate powerbrokers and giving them "unprecedented gushers of gifts." The same day, Carney called six federal byelections for December 7 in ridings across Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
