On November 1, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed near the Cresthaven area in Palm Beach County, Florida. The plane had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was en route to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when it nose-dived into a South Florida neighborhood and exploded into a massive fireball just miles from Mar-a-Lago. All nine people on board were killed, according to reports from November 2. The crash occurred near Greenacres, about eight miles from Mar-a-Lago, where Donald Trump had hosted a Halloween party the night before but had left for Iowa by the time of the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the accident. According to newly released air traffic control recordings, the pilot issued multiple mayday calls as the jet rapidly lost altitude at about 350 feet per second before crashing. Local resident Anthony Blackmon described seeing debris scattered over a significant distance and flames engulfing nearby roads and homes.
