Karl Bushby, a former British paratrooper, completed his 28-year journey on November 2, 2026, after walking approximately 31,000 miles (50,000 kilometers) across four continents. Starting from Punta Arenas, Chile, in 1998 at age 29, Bushby adhered to strict rules of not using any form of transportation and not returning home until the journey was complete. The trek took him through treacherous terrains including jungles, deserts, and icy regions like the Bering Strait from Alaska to Russia. Upon his return to Hull, England, he was greeted by his mother Angela and other family members amidst much fanfare and media attention. Bushby’s epic journey, known as the "Goliath Expedition," aimed to challenge personal limits and has been a source of inspiration for many.
