As of November 5, 2026, Thomas Markle Sr., father of Duchess Meghan (née Markle), is under investigation by Filipino authorities for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material. His son, Thomas Markle Jr., reported the discovery to Philippine police and the FBI in October after finding hundreds or thousands of such images on devices at his father's residence in Cebu, Philippines. The Philippine National Police confirmed they found explicit content, including footage of minors, on digital devices turned over by Thomas Jr.
In a statement, Meghan expressed deep distress over these allegations, emphasizing her decision to limit contact with her father was always for the protection of children. Meanwhile, Thomas Markle Sr. has denied any involvement, calling the accusations "sick lies." However, Filipino police are now also investigating his younger brother in connection with similar claims, as witnesses have alleged that underage girls were brought to his home.
