Story summary

Nicolas Cage disclosed on November 3, 2026, during a Los Angeles Comic Con panel that he is "a little bit homeless" due to a massive sinkhole that swallowed part of his Malibu home in September. The actor said he has been staying in hotels since the incident and missed out on hosting trick-or-treaters for Halloween. The sinkhole, which measured up to 30 feet deep and 60 feet wide, caused hazardous conditions leading city officials to red-tag seven homes near Cage's property and an additional 24 due to loss of safe vehicular access. City authorities had initially reported a gas leak but confirmed no injuries occurred.

Why this leaning score
This article does not take a side on a contested political question, so it has no leaning score. That is an answer rather than a gap: a match report or a rescue can be warmly or critically written without being left or right, and scoring it anyway is how approval of a subject gets recorded as a political position.
