What the Democrats' 'blue tsunami' midterm victory means for the Republican party
Democrats won at least 7 Senate seats held by Republicans, taking control of both the House and Senate
The Democrats took control on Tuesday night, securing the majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives during the U.S. midterm elections, according to projections by three American networks.

These results may reduce U.S. President Donald Trump's power, though the president has shown an ability to take action without Congress, through tools such as executive orders.

Washington correspondents Katie Simpson, Willy Lowry and Paul Hunter break down what this says about American voter sentiment, what the next two years of Trump's presidency could look like and how Canada-U.S. relations may change.

I'm going to say that I think it kind of depends on what the Democrats do over the coming months, the coming two years, whether they pursue litigation, impeachments of Trump and some of his cabinet members, perhaps, which is something I think would actually fan the flames and continue to give oxygen to MAGA and allow the party to kind of re-coalesce around that.
