As of November 5, a shooting and subsequent firefight in Spokane County, Washington, left four people dead, including two civilians and a deputy, and another deputy critically wounded. Deputies responded to a home around 2:30 p.m. local time after receiving a report from a woman who said her brother had shot her; the suspect was later identified by authorities as having an active felony warrant. When SWAT team members attempted to breach the house, they were met with gunfire, resulting in injuries to two deputies and the deaths of all involved inside the home, including one victim found in the yard.
According to Sheriff John Nowels, both injured deputies were initially rushed to a hospital but one later died from his wounds, while the other remained on life support. The identities of the victims have not been released by officials.
