On November 3, 2026, Warsaw-Modlin Airport closed temporarily after a bomb threat was reported on a LOT Polish Airlines flight from London Heathrow Airport to Warsaw Chopin Airport, which diverted and landed safely at Modlin instead. The airport remained closed while security services verified the threat; it later reopened and resumed normal operations. Approximately 181 passengers were onboard the affected flight. Around the same time, an SAS Scandinavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen also reported a bomb threat but proceeded to land normally at Chopin Airport without disrupting its operations further. These incidents are part of a broader wave of similar threats affecting multiple flights across Europe in recent days, all currently believed to be hoaxes.
