On October 12, 2026, Russell Brand, a 51-year-old British comedian, appeared in Southwark Crown Court in London for the start of his trial on charges related to six women over incidents from 1999 to 2009. He faces seven charges including rape and sexual assault, which he denies. The trial is expected to last 10 to 12 weeks. On November 6, Brand was convicted and spent his first night in solitary confinement at HMP Wandsworth prison. Met Police boss Sir Mark Rowley stated that he wouldn't be surprised if more people came forward with allegations against Brand.
