On November 6, 2026, Russell Brand was convicted on four counts of rape and sexual assault after a trial that lasted several weeks at Southwark Crown Court in London. The prosecution claimed that Brand sexually assaulted six women over a decade, between 1999 and 2009, in incidents that included rape in hotel rooms during the Labour Party conference in Bournemouth, grabbing a TV worker’s breasts, forcing her into a sex act in a toilet, and kissing and groping another radio station worker. Brand's wife Laura Gallacher crumpled in the public gallery as verdicts were read out. He faces years behind bars and potential financial ruin from civil claims on both sides of the Atlantic.
