The FIVB, the sport's international governing body, announced on Thursday that Omaha, Nebraska, Orlando, Florida, and Anaheim, California will host the 2027 women’s volleyball World Cup, previously known as the world championships. This marks the first time North America will host the tournament, which runs from August 20 to September 5, featuring 32 nations. Pool play and round-of-16 matches will take place in Omaha's CHI Health Center Arena and Orlando's Kia Center, while Anaheim’s Honda Center will host quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final match, also serving as a venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics volleyball competitions. The tournament is an Olympic qualifier, with top three nations earning spots in the Games if they haven't already qualified. Sports network ION will provide extensive coverage of the event.
