Chelsea's manager Xabi Alonso provided updates on player injuries ahead of their match against Brentford on Friday night. Joao Pedro, a key striker, was replaced in the Brazil squad due to injury but Alonso hasn't ruled him out for the game. Similarly, Alonso mentioned that decisions regarding players Reece James and Moises Caicedo would be made after the final training session scheduled for tomorrow. Brentford's victory over Chelsea in October 2021 remains their last win against them away from home; Ben Chilwell scored the only goal of that match. This upcoming game could potentially elevate Chelsea to third place in the Premier League table, although it may be short-lived due to other matches involving Hull and Brighton on Saturday.
