In July, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the top scorer of this year’s Indian Premier League, made his international debut for India against England in T20 cricket. However, he struggled and did not make a significant impact as England dominated the series. Later that month, Sooryavhi scored two fifties against Zimbabwe but has been on the sidelines since then. Recently, India coach Gautam Gambhir advised patience to the 15-year-old prodigy after leaving him out of the three-match Twenty20 series sweep against Afghanistan in New Delhi. In the series, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson opened for India, with Abhishek scoring the third-fastest century in T20 internationals during a 127-run victory over Afghanistan.
