In Abercwmboi, South Wales, a police officer sought help from an unsuspecting woman driving a Nissan Micra to catch suspect Jacob Roberts, 25. Roberts had crashed into several parked cars and rammed a police car while fleeing after officers detected the smell of cannabis in his van. When cornered at a dead-end lane, Roberts abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. The officer approached the woman and asked for a lift, to which she complied, helping him pursue Roberts until he was apprehended. Bodycam footage captured this unusual chase, highlighting how the civilian driver assisted law enforcement in making an arrest that led to Roberts' conviction and sentencing of one year and two months in jail for multiple driving offenses.
