Sonny Gray, a three-time All-Star, may retire after the 2026 baseball season due to family considerations. The veteran right-hander for the Boston Red Sox, who turns 37 in November, recently told The Boston Globe he would consider retirement if his family wants him to. Although Gray hasn't confirmed a decision, some within the Red Sox organization believe this could be his final season. If it is true, his last game might come against the rival New York Yankees during the wild-card round of the postseason. Previously with the Yankees from 2017 to 2018, Gray posted a 4.51 ERA in 41 games (34 starts) before being traded to Cincinnati Reds, where he had a Cy Young-caliber season in 2019.
