The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad uncovered a fake apostille sticker network involving Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) officials. Raids on multiple consultancy and courier offices in the basement of F&F Plaza, Aabpara, revealed that these firms were allegedly involved in creating and using fake apostilles, official seals, and documents. The investigation led to the arrest of 22 accused individuals, including six MoFA officials dealing with attestation and apostille matters, under Sections 420, 468, 471, and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947. The case highlights significant corruption within official channels that could undermine trust in document authentication processes.
