The Financial Conduct Authority has taken property investment firm Hunter Jones to high court over alleged unauthorised activity. The FCA is asking the court to stop Osborne Baldwin Limited, which trades as Hunter Jones and Hunter Jones Group, from carrying out regulated activities without proper authorisation. The company's CEO, social media influencer Reece Mennie, runs a platform that specialises in promoting loan notes, raising over £300 million for property investments. Loan notes are debt agreements used to raise capital. Additionally, another firm Equity for Growth (securities), which previously provided regulatory cover to Hunter Jones for marketing these loan notes, was also recently censured by the regulator last month.
