On Saturday around noon, Newton, Massachusetts police investigated a car crash at the prestigious Brae Burn Country Club in the affluent West Newton suburb near Boston. A white Mercedes crashed into the pro shop, injuring three people: two employees and the driver. All received minor injuries and were treated at nearby Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Surveillance footage revealed the car veered onto a curb before crashing through the wall behind the employees inside the shop. Police suspect operator error rather than intentional action or alcohol involvement as the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation. Local fire department and city engineer teams assessed structural safety, confirming the destroyed wall could be boarded up.
This is not the first vehicular incident at Brae Burn; in 2021, an SUV got stuck on a tee box due to what the driver claimed was incorrect GPS directions leading him through unauthorized areas.
