Jennifer Ayala, 36, fatally stabbed her boyfriend Pedersin Pelissier, also 36, in the chest around 6:50 a.m. on Saturday in her East Flatbush apartment after he allegedly continued to hit her despite her pleas for him to stop. Police found Pelissier bleeding from two stab wounds and rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead an hour later. Ayala told police she acted in self-defense when she grabbed a knife and stabbed Pelissier while he was attacking her. She was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon but was released on her own recognizance despite prosecutors requesting she be remanded. The case highlights the complexities surrounding domestic violence and self-defense claims in legal proceedings.
