Costco introduced a new menu item called The Rotisserie Chicken Chef Salad in its food court this year, featuring rotisserie chicken, hard-boiled eggs, bacon bits, shredded cheddar cheese on romaine lettuce with tomatoes and creamy peppercorn ranch dressing. The salad costs $7.99, offers 59 grams of protein, but also packs a hefty 840 calories. Jamie Lee McIntyre, a Florida-based registered dietitian nutritionist, advised that while high protein content is appealing, it's important to consider other nutritional factors like sodium and saturated fat levels. She noted the salad has good whole food ingredients but cautioned that 840 calories might be too much for a light lunch for many people.
