Dolly Parton, the iconic country music star, passed away after being hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for five days with kidney and autoimmune issues. She allowed only two people to see her before her death: her longtime wig and makeup artist Cheryl Riddle, who prepared her for an open casket ceremony; and her nephew and former security head Bryan Seaver, whom she asked to announce her passing. Parton's dying wish was that no one should witness her in a weakened state, making Riddle's work crucial for the funeral arrangements. Her private service took place three days after her death, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville.
