On September 23, a Hawk T2 training jet from RAF Valley in Wales crashed shortly after takeoff near the village of Rhosneigr. Both crew members safely ejected using parachutes and are expected to make a full recovery despite minor injuries. Witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the aircraft before it fell to the ground, narrowly missing caravans and homes at Afallon Caravan Park owned by Richard Owen. The Royal Air Force has temporarily paused Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 flying operations as a precaution while investigating the incident.
