Major streaming platforms like Disney have been increasing subscription prices and rolling out advertising-backed plans to boost revenue growth, offset rising content costs, and improve profitability. According to reports, Disney+ will increase its ad-free monthly price by $2.50, or 13%, to $21.49, starting as early as Wednesday. Additionally, the ad-free version of Hulu will also see a $2.50 per month increase, while an ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle will rise by $2 to $21.99 monthly. The company will raise standalone ad-supported versions of both services by 50 cents to $12.49 each, but the bundled ad-supported plan remains at $12.99 per month. Disney did not respond immediately to comments from Reuters regarding these changes.
