Residents in a Canadian neighborhood near Toronto are upset about trash piles accumulating due to new subdivisions. Long-time residents of Innisfil, Ontario, have complained about garbage including broken toilets and used mattresses being dumped in the area for months. CTV obtained surveillance footage showing a man making multiple trips to dump his waste during daylight hours.
The local deputy mayor, Kenneth Fowler, stated that while there was once a green dumpster available, it has been removed and residents continue to use the same spot as an unofficial dumping ground. Fowler emphasized that the nearest landfill is only 20 minutes away, calling the behavior "unconscionable." Innisfil resident Justin Eddy said, "It’s ridiculous."
Social media users are also voicing their complaints online, blaming new residents for degrading the once-charming character of the community.
