Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee, has completed a script for a potential reboot of the show, which he wrote with original writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy stated that he had been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members who expressed enthusiasm about the idea despite having not read the script yet.
Glee originally followed a group of high school students as they navigated personal issues through their involvement in the New Directions glee club. The show starred notable actors such as Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, and the late Naya Rivera among others, who portrayed Sue Sylvester, Will Schuester, and Santana Lopez respectively.
The series was widely acclaimed by critics but experienced a decline in viewership over its later seasons. Sadly, two major cast members passed away during the show's run: Cory Monteith, who died in 2013 at age 31 from drug overdose, and Naya Rivera, whose accidental drowning led to her death in 2020 at age 33.
