NYU Langone Manhattan has been ranked as the top comprehensive academic medical center in the nation by Vizient for the fifth consecutive year, starting from Groundhog Day. This achievement marks a historical milestone, as NYU Langone is the first institution to hold this position for five years straight among over 120 institutions nationwide. Vizient's Quality and Accountability Study evaluates more than 1,000 hospitals and healthcare organizations annually based on six critical metrics: safety, mortality rates, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centered care, and equity. Dr. Alec C. Kimmelman, dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine and CEO of NYU Langone Health, emphasized the importance of quality and safety in patient care, expressing pride in their teams' dedication to these principles.
