One of Australia's most followed – and most glamorous – FIFO tradie influencers has been revealed to be a complete figment of artificial intelligence.

The Bindie Raye (@bindiidotraye) account has more than 80,000 followers on Instagram, as it supposedly follows the Perth-based 20-year-old worker.

It claims to show suggestive content shot at remote mines and insights into her life during FIFO 'swings' – tradie slang for 'on' and 'off' working weeks.

The account features pictures and videos of Raye at work, at the beach, watching the West Coast Eagles AFL team and relaxing with friends.

The profile also links to an OnlyFans-style Fanvue account where followers can pay up to $115 for pornographic videos, plus $9.24 a month for an ongoing subscription.

But it's only in the small print of the Fanvue account description that the first mention of AI content appears – and the revelation that it's all fake.

Fanvue's head of trust and safety Rob Haywood admitted Bindi Raye was an AI creation, but insisted even 'fully AI persona' Fanvue accounts are run by 'real' people.

Telltale signs of AI content on the Raye account included frequent misspellings and background distortion, as well as inconsistencies of facial features in videos.
University of Queensland cyber-security lecturer Priyanka Singh told the ABC that the Raye account appeared to be 'almost 100 per cent AI-generated'.

'People have the notion like if it's AI-generated, it would be a low-resolution video clip that would be very easy for them to discriminate and identify that it's a fake,' she added.

'Seeing used to be believing.'
Instagram and Facebook's parent company Meta said it was working to remove the Raye accounts because they violated company policies.
'While AI-generated content is not against our rules, misleading people about who is behind an account is, and we require people to disclose when they post realistic AI-generated content,' a Meta spokesman said.

It's the latest example in a growing list of influencers relying on AI content to boost engagement.

Instagram and Facebook's parent company Meta said it was working to remove the Raye accounts because they violated company policies
The probe into her online posts revealed several photos and videos promoting her charity work in developing countries had been created and enhanced by AI.
While Hinson fiercely denied the claims, the Instagram account for the Lily Jay Foundation put out a statement admitting it had used AI in its video material.

'During the creation of a very limited number of social media marketing materials, members of our marketing team incorporated a small number of AI-generated introductory clips featuring Lily Jay,' the statement read.

'These brief introductory sequences, typically lasting only a few seconds, were used solely as opening hooks before transitioning to genuine footage of our humanitarian work.
'They represented only a tiny fraction of the hundreds of clips shared across our platforms and were never used to depict, replace, or fabricate humanitarian activities or aid delivered on the ground.'
The ABC investigation centred around a video Hinson shared in February, in which she claimed she opened an orphanage for children in Uganda.

In the clip, kids are seen wearing white T-shirts printed with a Ugandan flag and a Lily Jay Foundation logo as they cheered and waved lollipops in the air.

'We washed them, gave them new clothes, everything a child needs to grow up in a positive environment,' she says in the footage.

Hinson fiercely denied the claims. She is a recent convert to Islam and has been working in the Muslim influencer space
However, ABC went on to claim Hinson's appearance in the video was AI-generated, as well as the clip of the children holding lollipops.

The banner positioned behind Hinson, which again showed her foundation's logo, also appeared to suddenly disappear at different points in the video.

Another angle showed the back of one of the white shirts she handed out, which seemed to misspell the name of her foundation.

The video has since been deleted from Hinson's page.
