Museum workers at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London are set to strike on Friday and Saturday over pay and working conditions. Members of Prospect and the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) will participate, affecting only a limited number of galleries within the museum's South Kensington site. Prospect is demanding at least a 4% pay increase for staff earning above the living wage and other benefits such as time-and-a-half pay for bank holiday work. The strike comes after months of negotiations; despite management meeting most demands with an improved offer, union representatives feel it falls short. The V&A’s statement indicates that planned industrial action will cause operational disruptions.
