A 60-year-old woman named Jane Faulder died on September 25 after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to rescue an injured kangaroo near Bredbo in the Snowy Monaro region of New South Wales. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm when Ms. Faulder spotted the animal on Monaro Highway and tried to move it off the road, resulting in her being hit by a car driven by a 54-year-old man who was uninjured but taken for mandatory testing. Emergency services were dispatched to treat Ms. Faulder at the scene, but she could not be saved. An investigation into the crash has begun, and local community members have honored Faulder's contributions as a dedicated volunteer in her calisthenics community for over five decades.
