On September 24, an Alaska Airlines Flight 803 operated by Hawaiian Airlines encountered a mysterious odor during its journey from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Seven flight attendants on board experienced nausea and headaches due to this unknown smell. The Airbus A330 aircraft, carrying 252 passengers and nine crew members, safely landed at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu around 12:30 p.m.
Upon landing, first responders from various city and state agencies had already been stationed at the airport to assist with any potential emergencies. Paramedics and EMTs evaluated the seven affected flight attendants outside Terminal 1; all declined transport to a hospital but were released after evaluation by medical personnel. No passengers required medical attention. Alaska Airlines stated, "Safety is our priority," thanking medical professionals for their assistance.
An investigation into the cause of the odor is currently underway.
