Lim Kay Siu and Neo Swee Lin, former Singaporean sitcom actors known for their roles in "Phua Chu Kang," were among six people charged for participating in unauthorized protests against the death penalty outside State Courts on February 3, 2025. The protest included candlelight vigils held at Changi Prison to support death row inmates and advocated for abolishing capital punishment. All except one of those charged violated a ban on public assemblies in certain areas, leading to their arrest and subsequent legal charges.
