On 27 September, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian drones struck multiple locations across Ukraine, resulting in significant damage. In Kyiv, the State Emergency Service (SES) confirmed one man was killed after a drone hit a non-residential building in the Solomianskyi district and caused injuries to several people, including two 16-year-old girls. Additional strikes affected the Shevchenkivskyi district, impacting a school, warehouses, and communications facilities. Meanwhile, in the Odesa region, authorities reported one death and injured two others from drone attacks that damaged residential buildings, medical facilities, hotels, and other structures.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Moscow launched approximately 170 drones, including 76 jet-powered Shahed-type UAVs, during this wave of attacks. Firefighters were able to control fires in Kyiv around 3am, preventing further damage from spreading to nearby buildings.
