Sgt Sadiq Al-Hasani, 37, an officer attached to Central West Command Unit of the Metropolitan Police in London, has been charged with perverting the course of justice after a BBC Panorama investigation into alleged misconduct at Charing Cross police station. The charge stems from allegations that Sgt Al-Hasani deliberately discouraged another officer from making a statement to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). He was formally charged on 13 August, and is set to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. This marks the first time an individual has faced charges as a direct result of the BBC Panorama's investigative report broadcast in October 2025, which revealed concerns about misconduct within the police force.
