The Vancouver Goldeneyes have signed their top draft pick, defender Caroline (KK) Harvey, to a three-year contract. Drafted first overall in June’s Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) entry draft, Harvey is an American player aged 23 who recently completed a stellar collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin. In her last season, she scored 18 goals and added 64 points, helping her team win their third consecutive NCAA championship and earning her the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Award as the top women’s college hockey player in the United States.
Harvey also shone on the international stage, contributing two goals and nine points to help the US national team win gold at the 2026 Olympics. This performance earned her recognition as the International Ice Hockey Federation’s female hockey player of the year. Joining Harvey is Canada's Sophie Jaques, who was shortlisted for PWHL defender of the year after putting up 20 points in 30 games last season.
"I am super excited to sign with Vancouver," said Harvey. "When I first visited the city after being drafted, I could feel how much people love hockey here." The signing underscores the Goldeneyes' ambitions as a new professional women’s team looking to establish itself in Canada's vibrant hockey landscape.
