Dame Esther Rantzen, a British broadcaster and campaigner, launched Childline in 1986, a helpline for abused children to report their issues confidentially over the phone. She also founded The Silver Line, aimed at reducing loneliness among the elderly. Rantzen's television career includes hosting That’s Life!, where she skillfully transitioned between light-hearted and serious topics with support from a male cast, including Richard Stilgoe and Cyril Fletcher. Her dedication to social causes earned her a damehood for her contributions to charity work focused on youth and elderly welfare.
