On Monday in Altadena, California, residents discovered a 500-pound bear resting beneath their home on Minoru Drive. The homeowners used security cameras and methods like loud music and a leaf blower to try and scare the bear away but were unsuccessful until it left on its own. The bear, known as "Yellow 2120" due to an ear tag it carries, is well-known to local authorities and has been documented attempting to use crawlspaces under homes for shelter. Despite his size and presence in residential areas, Yellow 2120 hasn't displayed aggressive behavior towards people and thus isn’t considered a threat to public safety by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). As a result, there are currently no plans to euthanize him.
