Sonny Gray, the starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of a recent series, angered Yankees officials by stating publicly that he hated his time in New York and never wanted to be with the Yankees. The Yankees believe Gray had been vocal about wanting out before they traded him. As a result, Gray is unlikely to receive a warm welcome when pitching against them at Yankee Stadium. Additionally, some Yankees players might take offense personally. Despite these issues, Gray boasts an MLB-best 18-5 record and a 2.72 ERA, and in the current year led the AL with a quality start percentage of 69% (20 out of 29 starts).
