A 65-year-old Australian woman died in Vietnam after undergoing cosmetic surgery, including breast implants and a tummy tuck. She first visited the City International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on September 4, where she was discharged the next day but returned four days later for liposuction and additional procedures. Post-procedure complications included shortness of breath, pain, and abdominal swelling. Doctors discovered she had a perforated colon and abdominal inflammation, which led to her admission into intensive care at Gia Dinh People’s Hospital, where she passed away on September 22. Vietnam is known for attracting about 300,000 international medical tourists annually, making it a popular destination for such procedures.
